Fujiwara Maboroshi 165mm Santoku Makeover | Part 1

SUBSCRIBE & click that notification bell 🔔 to stay up to date with my videos! I took an old Fujiwara santoku I had thought of selling and gave it a makeover. Increased its value by changing the handle, polishing the spine, giving it a new tip, a new edge, and thinning. This is a long video with lots of lessons learned as I'm not an expert in all techniques I adopted. Enjoy part 1 of 2. 🌐 Find me on: 📸 INSTAGRAM -   / thefrancoalo   📒 FACEBOOK -   / thefrancoalo   🐦 TWITTER -   / thefrancoalo   Join the Japanese Made Knives Facebook Group   / 3075406602681306   –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– 🎵 Track Info for intro –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Bushido's Way by The Real Deal https://therealdeal.bandcamp.com/trac... –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– 🎵 Track Info for video (in order of appearance) –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Music : Roa - Sunset With You Watch :    • Roa - Sunset With You 【Official】   Stream / Download : https://hypeddit.com/link/d9regh License : https://roamusic.wixsite.com/roamusic shine by Rexlambo   / rexlambo   Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0 Free Download / Stream: https://bit.ly/-shine- Music promoted by Audio Library    • shine – Rexlambo (No Copyright Music)   Moonlight pt 2 by Roa   / roa_music1031   Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0 Free Download / Stream: https://bit.ly/3x9ZgN1 Music promoted by Audio Library    • Moonlight pt 2 – Roa (No Copyright Music)   Terminus by Scott Buckley   / scottbuckley   Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0 Free Download / Stream: https://bit.ly/3w2Y90h Music promoted by Audio Library    • Terminus – Scott Buckley (No Copyright Music)   =================================== ⏰ TIMESTAMPS =================================== 0:00 Intro 0:40 Thoughts about my Fujiwara santoku 1:04 Things I want to fix/change 2:56 Handle removal 6:58 Explaining my process behind handle removal 8:31 Spine polish 10:24 Tip repair 15:31 Thinning process and setup 17:16 Thinning (what not to do and the beginning of a process)
