COMPRESSION TYPE PL-259 CONNECTOR , CLAMP ON PL-259

New type clamp on PL-259 connector version is a snap to use . ERROR ALERTS ! Note I made errosr in this video with what I said I said "tighten the compression nut with a 15 MM open end wrench " That should be A 16MM wrench 15MM is to small then I said that 1.25 inches was 3.2 MM No it is actually 3.2 CM and finally I said "cut off the center conductor " That should have been "CUT OFF THE CENTER INSULATION " Leaving the center conductor ... Well if there are no mistakes being made then nothing is being done Hi Hi . ALSO NOTE I said "cut the center conductor off flush with the bushing " I should have said " Cut the center INSULATION off flush with the bushing " you don't want to cut the center conductor . I sure like these connectors installed one on RG11 Aluminum QUAD SHIELD coax standing near the top on a 8 foot stepladder for my 80 meter inverted V antenna the only soldering was the center pin on the connector . Very easy to do . I recommend you take a few little pieces of coax and practice installing a connector a couple of times maybe make up a couple of jumper cables ? So when you get up there working on that antenna you will know exactly what to do .Practice makes perfect . 73 Bob
