MZ NEON - GO ON (Official Music Video)

“Go On” is an industrial rock anthem confronting rage-bait internet discourse, misinformation campaigns, and the fear-driven narratives projected onto marginalized communities. Built around the refrain, “You don’t know anything about it…but go on, keep telling me how you’re affected,” the song takes aim at people who speak over lived experience while confidently spreading assumptions, distortions, and manufactured outrage. Drawing from Mz Neon’s experiences as a trans woman, “Go On” captures the exhaustion of constantly having to defend your existence, correct false narratives, and advocate for yourself or the communities you represent. While rooted in the realities of anti-trans rhetoric and the boogeyman narratives fueled by online outrage and political fear mongering, the song’s themes extend far beyond any single group. It speaks to anyone who has found themselves on the receiving end of misinformation, scapegoating, or public narratives created by people with little understanding of the lives they are discussing. Blending crushing guitars, electronic textures, punk attitude, and experimental production, Mz Neon channels frustration, defiance, and resilience into a powerful statement about identity, visibility, and reclaiming one’s voice. “Go On” is both a personal response and a broader reflection on the emotional toll of being forced into endless cycles of explanation, defense, and self-advocacy in the face of misinformation and bad-faith discourse.
