▶Human Rights in Brazil and the World ▶At the IEA (Institute for Advanced Studies) of USP (University of São Paulo), Brazilian Ambassador José Augusto Lindgren Alves gave a lecture and launched his book on the threat to human rights. In his lecture, José Augusto Lindgren Alves addressed human rights from the same perspective as in his work, highlighting the crisis the topic is currently facing. Until the beginning of this year, he served as Executive Secretary of the Institute of Public Policies on Human Rights (IPPDH) of Mercosur. For over 30 years he has dedicated himself to human rights and its international system. Elected as an independent expert, since 2002 he has also been a member of the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD), a United Nations treaty body that meets regularly in Geneva.
