3 JOURS DE VIE EN FORÊT EN HIVER (trek, bushcraft, tipi, poêle à bois, tartiflette )

For New Year's, I spent three days alone in a natural setting, in a small mountain forest. To celebrate both my favorite season and a new year that I hope will be full of pleasant surprises and wonderful encounters, I chose a symbolic place for me: the Chartreux Pond. I took the opportunity to film the walk and life at the camp to share with you the joy of experiencing these unique moments. This video is the (very) short version, and a longer version will be published soon. The conditions were quite good, with an average of -2°C and some nighttime snowfall. The most challenging aspects of these three days were the constant wind that regularly blew snow from the branches like showers, the ever-present mist and humidity, the lack of sun, and the much too short daylight under the fir trees. Safety-wise, if I had been forced to seek shelter due to the cold, the teepee and wood stove filled with dry wood, along with my large sleeping bag, were ready to welcome me and keep me warm. Fortunately, everything went well. I spent my days outside chopping wood, cooking calorie-rich meals and hot drinks, building furniture and tinkering with my tools (axe, saw, knife, and auger), and chatting with my camera 🤔😂 Overall, I have very good memories of this winter trek. It taught me a lot about myself and my equipment, but also about my approach to life in the wild. For this trek, where weather conditions are challenging for both gear and person, I chose to equip myself with as much rustic and sturdy gear as possible: backpack, sleeping bag, cookset, teepee... for a total weight of 30-35 kg. It's obviously very heavy, and over the 18km of hilly terrain I traversed, I was glad I'd started physical training with a proper diet a year ago. Of course, a pulka-style transport sled would be welcome to carry my gear, if anyone has one for sale. You can already find a series of posts about this hike on the Facebook page   / chartreusenature   and Instagram page   / chartreuse.nature   (and soon on my blog).
