The main objective in an emergency situation is to help a VICTIM of electric SHOCK without getting hurt or becoming another victim of the accident. First: carefully observe the accident environment and where the victim of electric shock is. Identify immediate risks that could threaten life. Second: alert people to the accident site, asking for help from other people and, if necessary, ask for help from emergency services. Approach the electric shock victim safely and, if possible, remove the risks from the victim or, if possible, remove the victim from the area. Third: assess the severity of the electric shock victim's condition and whether the area is safe to begin first aid. Fourth: begin first aid by checking whether the electric shock victim is conscious and breathing, and then treat any other injuries. If the unconscious electric shock victim does not move his/her chest within ten seconds, he/she should be considered to be in cardiac arrest, or cardiopulmonary arrest, and the first responder should begin CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) first with “compressions only” on the chest. Kneeling next to the victim of electric shock, the rescuer should place one hand in the middle of the victim's chest and use the hardest part of the hand, between the end of the hand and the wrist, not the palm. Clasp the other hand over the first so that the palm of the hand is suspended. Raise the shoulders over the victim's chest and, with straight arms, compress the victim's chest without bending the elbows. When compressing the chest of an adult victim, apply a force that lowers the chest at least five centimeters. Allow the victim's chest to return completely before applying new compression. The main objective of compression is to carry the blood that leaves the heart with each compression to the brain, so it is necessary to maintain a rhythm of at least 100 compressions per minute so that the brain receives blood constantly.
