Venus (Extended)_Shocking Blue

"Venus" was issued in the Netherlands in July 1969. The song initially peaked at #3 on the Dutch Top 40 on July 12th and remained there for a total of 5 weeks. It also reached #1 in Belgium, France and Germany. At the same time, composer Jerry Ross was looking for a European release for the United States, so he signed Shocking Blue to his new Colossus Records. In February 1970 "Venus" then reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold for one million copies sold. Its success in the US prompted further interest in other markets around the world, and it reached #3 again in the Netherlands, as well as the top 10 in the UK. Worldwide, the single sold over 5 million copies. I've extended it to 5:32 minutes. Hope you like it!
