At first it doesn't sound too bad, enemies just have 2 times speed, damage and health, until you realize this not only means double scaling but also means enemies will push you away from shrines, not even giving you a chance to build up a run. After failing with a double anvil start on Monke the last time I decided to switch it up, taking the Ninja for a stronger starting weapon (though it's worse early on) as he also gains Dodge and using my secret ace I had up my sleeve - the Shield Tome. The idea is simply: Even with 2000 HP we got destroyed by the boss, so whenever we lose our shield we jump down the boss stage, which gives us enough time to recover our Shield. With a 500 Shield that means a near instant 500 heal whenever we need it. Smash your way through endless waves of enemies and grow absurdly powerful!
