Richardson and the men move off into firing position. Various shots of the men as they fire at the snipers. Richardson throws a grenade. It lands close to the enemy and explodes. More gunfire. One of the enemy is shot and keels over. Officers look through binoculars at the Fort of Karandi. 01:30:19 Shot of two Royal Air Force planes high in the sky. Interior - C/U of pilot. He speaks through his radio to Rogers. M/S of Pavitt speaking into a walkie talkie or radio. He tells the pilot his target. The pilot responds: "Roger, going in now." Low angle shot of banking planes. L/S of planes flying low over the fort. A bomb is dropped and there is an explosion beside the fort. Richardson and Gardiner watch the planes. Various explosions beside the Fort - there are flames. One of the officers gives the thumbs up sign. One of the jets is seen banking away from the fort. 01:31:25 Rogers gives order to signaller for firing to begin. Sergeant yells: "Fire!" Men load and fire mortars. Explosions are seen around the fort. Platoons move in to fort, men clamber across rocks. C/Us of machine gun being fired. Good C/U of officer shouting "Fire!", various shots of of Fort under fire and soldiers firing guns. Officers give the order to "Stop!" then "Advance". More guns are fired. A white flag is raised, an Officer gives the thumbs up signal. The order is given to gather up the prisoners. Manoeuvres are discussed then Richardson speaks to Gardiner on the radio. Gardiner tells Richardson what to do. Richardson speaks. He sits on a rock and lets them know the Major's plan. He congratulates his men and says just one more job to do before breakfast. 01:35:30 Dramatic patriotic music is played over shots of the officers leading the men to the top of a hill.
