California Ghost Towns 5 Caliente and Bealville
A reenactor explores the ghost towns of California. In this chapter, there are visits to Kern County's Caliente, home of the Tehachapi Loop, and Bealville. But Caliente was also the site of crimes committed by two of California's famous outlaws: Dick Fellows and Procopio. See what's become of the boom town and the depot which grew out of it. Caliente: Location: 2.3 mi N of Hwy 58 on Bealville Rd, Caliente. It is listed as Number 757 on the list of California Historical Landmarks. Tehachapi Loop: Location: On Old State Hwy, 3.2 mi E of Keene exit, 6.5 mi W of Tehachapi. The site is now listed as Number 508 on the list of California Historical Landmarks. Bealville: Location: On Bealville Rd, 0.9 mi N of State Hwy 58, 1.3 mi S of Caliente. The town is now listed as Number 741 on the list of California Historical Landmarks.
