5 Things You Need to Know About the New NYSC Reform in 53 Years

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved a policy that could bring the biggest transformation to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) since its establishment in 1973. If eventually signed into law and implemented, these reforms will fundamentally reshape the NYSC experience for future corps members. These proposed reforms aim to preserve that mission while preparing graduates for today's workforce and economy. Important: These reforms have not yet taken effect. Although the Federal Executive Council has approved the policy direction, amendments to the NYSC Act and other relevant regulations must still be completed before implementation can begin.
