Fishing One Of The Biggest Dams In South Africa For Big Aggressive Bass !!!!!!

In this stop for my journey brings me to The Biggest Dam In South Africa where there are Big Bass that are hungry and aggressive. The Vaal Dam has never been a dam that I wanted to try and fish. There are many reason why. It's size, water clarity, danger levels and how difficult the Vaal Dam can be to catch those Bass. I was wrong, This Big Dam that I thought was impossible to fish turns out it has really Big and aggressive bass lurking around in areas you wouldn't expect. The water clarity of the Vaal Dam is one aspect of the dam that is the most off putting, it is chocolate brown and has a yummy layer of green soup on top of it. These aggressive bass didn't seem to mind the terrible water condictiones. This big body of water would make you think it would be difficult to locate bass, this wasn't the case. Those aggressive bass where going through spawn and due to the water being so dirty, they only had one option to spawn, go up shallow. This was amazing to me since I have never seen bass act this way since I've started bass fishing. The bass at the Vaal Dam need sun light to spawn so the best way to do this at the Vaal Dam is to go up shallow where there almost on the bank of the Vaal Dam. Backs out the water and moving the water around then this made the bass fishing a lot easier for us. We could sight the bass and this is how we fished this unique but huge dam in South Africa. Even though the bass fishing was good, the weather wasn't. It being raining and windy we weren't able to explore the dam to it's potential. The Vaal Dam is a big piece of water and when the weather gets bad the water gets choppy and the waves pick up that it is nearly impossible to go out with a bass boat. The bad weather rolling in at the Vaal Dam wasn't good since the tournament director had to call of day two of our first stop. This was sad since those aggressive bass needed to be caught a second time. Rather safe then sorry. Safety is the number one priority for anglers and we all need to be able to get home safely. So the is the biggest Dam in South africa worth fishing? YES this dam has some really nice and aggressive bass in it that need to be caught.
