MTA BxM18 Bus Ride: 2013 MCI D4500CT 2288 from Lower Manhattan to Riverdale via I-87, Triboro Bridge

Taken on 9/12/25. Video of a late PM/evening ride onboard MTA 2013 MCI D4500CT 2288 on the BxM18 bus route between Downtown Manhattan and Riverdale in The Bronx, via Madison Avenue, the Triboro / RFK Bridge and the Major Deegan Expressway (I-87). This was one of several buses which were used on Staten Island express service, previously assigned to Charleston Depot. Due to very public issues surroundings Staten Island's maintenance, a swap of both local and express buses between SI depots and the rest of the city was done. This was in order to improve the rider satisfaction and reduce delays or cancellations due to inadequate maintenance, which has been subject to public scrutiny, including by politicians and the media. Many SI buses were transfer to other depots so they can receive proper maintenance and be suitable for operations. In turn, various buses from other parts of the city were sent to SI, so they provide service. This bus also detoured from its typical route via the Madison Avenue Bridge due to long-term construction work which was occurring at the time. Buses operate via the Triboro / RFK Bridge as it was the nearest bridge in the area. The detour added quite some time to the route.
