From metal vocals not taking talent, metal being just noise, all metal being satanic, to potential mistreatment of women, metalheads being gatekeepers, or not enjoying any other type of music, metal having a look, making you violent or all metalheads being depressed, to lo-fi production making music bad, there are dozens of well-known stereotypes within the heavy metal community both inside and outside of it. Whether we are talking about metal having 'too many genres', or metal being unpopular to listen to, follow me on a journey in this brand new video essay throughout the many stereotypes of this niche as I attempt to both explain why they exist, and then go on to explain why they are false!
