Metsäkukkia Waltz, Duet with Diane Hagen & Richard Noel

Metsäkukkia is a beautiful waltz composed in 1931 by the Finnish composer and accordionist, Viljo Vesterinen. We are performing this as a "virtual" duet, with Diane Hagen in Portland, Oregon and Richard Noel in Bakersfield, California. Diane plays an acoustic accordion and Richard a digital accordion. The song was Diane's idea and she plays the lead while Richard uses a violin register to play his accompaniment arrangement with the digital accordion. The song sometimes goes by other names such as "Forest Flowers." Diane and Richard connected during Richard's trip to the Northwest for the Leavenworth accordion festival and for a seminar on the v-accordion at Petosa Accordions.Richard last remembered Diane from the time she was 5 years old growing up in the Eileen Hagen Accordion Studio. Eileen Hagen, Diane's mother, was Richard's accordion teacher throughout high school. It was a pleasure to work with Diane and we hope you enjoy our creation.
