This chili belongs to the genus "Capsicum chinense" and is a cross between a Purple Bhut Jolokia and a Trinidad Scorpion Butch T. The special feature of this chili plant are the chilies. As they ripen, they first turn purple, then green again, and finally ripen to orange/red. However, the fruits retain some of the purple color within the chili. The chili plant grows bushy and reaches a height of about 80 cm. You can also sometimes see purple discoloration in the stem and leaves. The flowers are small and white, and the chili plant normally bears a lot of fruit. Germination temperature is slightly higher than normal, at around 26-28°C, and germination can take 2-3 weeks. The flavor is quite fruity/lemony, similar to Bhut Jolokia chilies. Due to their high heat, I recommend processing the chilies into chili powder or chili sauces.
