In our latest video, we take a detailed look at the new Panerai Luminor Marina 2025 – an update that seems subtle at first glance, but brings some significant improvements and changes beneath the surface. ✅ What's new with the Luminor Marina 2025? As the team behind this review, we wanted to answer the question: Is this a true upgrade or more of a hidden downgrade? The answer is nuanced: Case & Design: Panerai remains true to its iconic design language – the 44 mm diameter case is now 12% thinner, significantly improving comfort. The weight has also been reduced by 15%. Luminous Intensity & Visibility: For the first time, Super-LumiNova X2 is incorporated into the core collection – this means up to 40% more luminosity. Water Resistance: Increased from 300 m to 500 m – a clear commitment to the brand's tool watch DNA. Strap & Comfort: The new generation features a standardized quick-change system for leather and steel straps, as well as a quick-adjustment mechanism in the new folding clasp. Material Options: In addition to the stainless steel version, there is now also a titanium version (Grade 5) with a green dial – lighter and with a higher quality finish. ⚠️ Criticism: The Movement Perhaps the most critical point is the new P.980 caliber: It comes from the 900 series (based on Baume & Mercier), no longer from the more exclusive 9000 series like its predecessor. No more quick-setting hour function, only 23 jewels instead of 31. Positive: Now with a stop-second function, a transparent case back, improved decoration, and a balance bridge – features that were originally present in the previous model but were rationalized away. 💬 Conclusion from our team The update of the Panerai Luminor Marina 2025 brings many smart detail improvements – to the case, the wearing experience, and the appearance. The movement, however, has been cut back on exclusivity, presumably to keep the price stable: €8,900 for a leather strap, €9,900 for steel or titanium. For us on the team, the question remains: Do you focus on comfort and everyday usability or maximum exclusivity in the movement? The new model doesn't offer both at the same time.
