Can I Fix This Broken G Scale LGB Stainz?

Join me as I attempt to try and fix this British Saddle Tank Stainz Locomotive that I converted last year, however since being built it had some lumpy running in reverse and would occasionally lock up in forwards, so today I take a look as to what's wrong with it, but it's safe to say, it wasn't plain sailing. Of the motor bearings had come out of the motor casing, causing the worm gear on the motor shaft to keep going in and out of mesh with the drive gear. The connecting rods were too tight on the wheel shafts so these were opened up and refitted which created the slop in the mechanism required. In addition to this the slide bars and connecting rod were replaced from 3d printed parts to genuine LGB Replacements as there was a tight spot where the slide bar was catching the crosshead. This then finally led to smooth running from No.1, nearly to the smoothness of No.2 & 3! #train #repairing #model #modeltrains #restoration
