Framing my textiles in a box frame
I show you how I frame my textile art in box frames. I am a textile designer and tutor. My work starts with breakdown printing onto cotton fabric, I have then bonded and collaged textile transfer paper, hand dyed fabrics, hand printed fabrics onto this background fabric. It is embellished with free-motion embroidery and hand stitch, this would be equivalent to a drawn line on a paining. I love these box frames as they allow my work to be slightly 3 dimensional, you can see the natural warp of the fabrics and the raised quality of the stitching.
