Emu Command Station when pads don't work- disassembly and clean, plus other ideas
The velocity and pressure-sensitive keypads can play on any MIDI channel as programmed in the Controllers menu. They are normally set to play on the “Basic” channel, which means that they play the preset currently showing in the preset view screen. The keypads output channel (mono) pressure internally (routed in the PatchCords) and both channel and polyphonic pressure over MIDI. If the Rubber Keypads do not respond/ are not sensitive to different pressures, the contacts or sensors may be dirty or need refreshing. In this video I show the way that I used to renew the responsiveness of the keypads on my MP7. However, if ALL of the pads do not to work, some possible reasons are - The LOCAL control set to OFF in the CONTROLLERS menu option. Loose or damaged connecting cables or PCB connectors. Let me know if this works for you? And remember, this video is not a professional tutorial, and I am not a professional. This is just for information.
