He is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his residency training at Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Currently, he works as a hospitalist in New Jersey, USA. He is extremely passionate about networking and mentoring among the diaspora healthcare professionals and he is the creator of the Habesha healthcare professionals Facebook group. He also volunteers as a career mentor with Selamta Family Project, an organization that works to bring children living in unsafe environments and orphanages into a family-oriented living arrangement in Ethiopia. He also believes in a good work-life balance and if not busy working at the hospital, he tries to spend as much time as possible with his family and friends. He spends his spare time listening to music, writing poetry, and watching sports.
