The author discusses the kidnapping of his daughter Joséphine, which occurred after he had depicted a similar situation in a novel he had just begun and later finished during the kidnapper's trial. He was suspected of having been inspired by his own tragedy. Archival images INA National Audiovisual Institute http://www.ina.fr
