Suzuki GSX-S1000 vs QJMotor SRK 921 - Beauty Against Brains!

The Suzuki GSX-S1000 and the QJMotor SRK 921 are not the most obvious rivals – but on paper, they are closer than you might think. Both are powerful naked bikes, both have serious performance, and both were tested on stunning Austrian mountain roads during the Newchurch Summit. Adam Child compares the proven Suzuki GSX-S1000 with the much more unusual QJMotor SRK 921. The Suzuki is powered by the legendary K5-derived inline-four engine and delivers around 150 hp, while the QJMotor SRK 921 uses a 921 cc engine with clear MV Agusta influence, producing around 126 hp. The QJMotor also brings impressive equipment, including Brembo brakes, multiple riding modes, a six-axis IMU, lean-sensitive rider aids and tyre pressure monitoring. But specs are only one part of the story. The QJMotor SRK 921 looks dramatic, sounds fantastic and feels like a proper exotic naked bike. It turns heads, especially in the mountains, and its quickshifter adds plenty of drama. However, when ridden back-to-back with the Suzuki GSX-S1000, its weaknesses become much clearer. The Suzuki may be more conventional and less spectacular to look at, but it is smoother, easier to ride, more forgiving and more complete as an everyday performance naked bike. With strong low-down torque, simple controls, good fuelling and user-friendly handling, the GSX-S1000 proves why a well-developed Japanese naked bike can still be extremely hard to beat.
