We continue the adventure through the autobiographical writings collected by Panait Istrati under the cycle The Life of Adrian Zografi with the story In the World of the Mediterranean structured in several chapters in which the author tells us various adventures and incidents, cramps of life lived on the shores of the sea. Panait Istrati introduces us to the universe of his thinking, reveals his philosophy on the role of human existence in relation to the realities of the society in which he lives, describes interhuman relationships from an emotional point of view, going through the entire spectrum of emotions from love, anger, hatred, indifference. Panait Istrati (1884–1935) was one of the most original Romanian writers of the 20th century. He was born in Brăila and had an adventurous life, full of travel, work and experiences that later became literary material. He wrote mainly in French and was discovered by the famous writer Romain Rolland, who supported him and introduced him to the European literary world. Panait Istrati's work is strongly influenced by: the world of the Danube ports, Balkan and Oriental culture, stories of freedom and adventure.
