Amazonite & Smoky Quartz Pocket Play | Crystal Collaboration in the Tarryalls

The discovery of this pocket was introduced in the last video that took place in the redskin stock of the Tarryall Mountains, Colorado. Discovery: While en route to a different pocket, Travis Pearson demonstrated his adept crystal-ray vision when a lone piece of pegmatite caught his eye. It’s wild to me that I saw the same rock and didn’t make anything of it. However, the longstanding relationship that Travis has built with minerals provided him with a different interpretation than my own. He commented, “We should definitely test here before continuing our trek.” I curiously obliged and began scanning the surface for any fragments of quartz or feldspar. There was absolutely no faced forms on the surface, just that one piece of pegmatite with small interlocking grains. Minutes later and at a depth of ~15cm, small smokies and a pale blue amazonite appeared. Once again Travis, amazing tracking skills in locating this pocket.
