Born in Tonga in 1968 and later moving to Auckland, Rocky rose to prominence in the 1990s as a senior gang leader. His criminal career included armed robberies, major drug importations, and running operations from prison using smuggled phones. He served long prison terms but remained a key figure in the underworld, even after being confined to a wheelchair following an accident in 2018. Though defined by crime, Rocky was remembered for his generosity, loyalty, and influence, earning respect across communities and even making appearances at rallies in his later years. His passing drew widespread tributes, highlighting the complicated legacy he leaves behind as both a feared criminal and a respected leader.
