McGrath on the question of if there was a lost Gospel that many scholars call Q or the Logoi of Jesus that Matthew and Luke both independently copied from or instead Luke knew Matthew and Q did not exist. James McGrath will be defending the position of the two-source hypothesis that posits that Matthew and Luke copied Mark's Gospel, however, Matthew and Luke did not read each others Gospels and that the material they have in common that is not in Mark's Gospel was copied from the Q source (Logoi). Mark Goodacre will be defending the Farrer hypothesis, a view established by Austin Farrer that suggests the Q source (Logoi) did not exist and that Luke knew and copied the double tradition material from Matthew's Gospel.
