Toronto TTC Line 6 Finch West LRT - First Ride & Impressions on Opening Day! 12/7/2025

After five years of construction and additional year of testing, the Line 6 Finch West LRT is open. It is 11 km long and has 18 stops, running from Finch West Station in North York to Humber College Station in Etobicoke. This line passes through many lower-income and racialized neighbourhoods in northwest Toronto, which have been largely underserved due to the lack of rapid transit. Today, this line is expected to carry more passengers than the 36 Finch West bus, which saw average crush load and unreliability during rush hours. This line uses Alstom Citadis Spirit LRVs, built in the early 2020s and are the same models used on OC Transpo's O-Train in Ottawa. Here is my first ride in the westbound direction and I give my impressions and many critiques of this line which you'll hear. I do have one thing to say here for now: turn on signal priority! I have many more videos of Line 6 on the way so stay tuned.
