Christmas Market at Night | 4K Munich Walking Tour

On this winter night walk in Munich we start at the illuminated Mercedes building next to Donnersbergerbrücke around 7 pm, when the city has already sunk into darkness. From there we pass the busy intersection at Arnulfstraße and slip into a much quieter side street that leads in the direction of Rotkreuzplatz. Along the way we walk through a calm residential area with small shops and local businesses, where you can discover many everyday specialties, bakeries, small supermarkets, tiny boutiques and services for the neighbourhood. The traffic noise fades into the background and you mainly hear footsteps, passing cars and the distant sound of the city. Arriving at Rotkreuzplatz the mood changes completely. It is Friday evening and the Christmas market is full of people enjoying food, drinks and the winter atmosphere. I try to walk once through the market, but it is very crowded, so we circle around it and take in the lights and sounds from the outside as well. After leaving the square we continue towards Steubenplatz. On the way we pass more small shops for daily needs, restaurants and bars that give this part of Neuhausen its local character. A rather dark passage leads us further on, before we finally arrive at the quieter Steubenplatz where this walk comes to an end.
