Nusco 28 giugno 2025 la traslazione di Amato Teta soldato-contadino martire della II guerra mondiale

Nusco 28 June 2025. The Mayor and the Municipal Administration, with the patronage of the “Acqui” Division, Campania Section, in collaboration with the Cultural Workshop “La Casa di Giuseppe Casciaro”, the Carabinieri Association “Alfredo Sandulli”, the Misericordia “Pro Civitate Nusci” and the “Circolo Pensionati Nusco”, celebrate the transfer of the mortal remains of the soldier AMATO TETA, born in Nusco on 27 May 1916. A farmer, serving in the 33rd Artillery Regiment of the Acqui Division stationed in Cephalonia and Corfu, a prisoner of the Germans in September 1943, an Italian military internee in Gorlitz (Poland) in Stammlager VIII/A, who died of hardship and disease on 19 January 1945, ten days before the liberation of the camp, already buried in the Italian military cemetery in Bielany (Warsaw). The synthesis of the soldier-peasant's unfulfilled desire, that of returning to the love of His Land and His People, can be found in the touching words of Giuseppe Iuliano engraved on the tombstone and inevitably placed in the opening title of my film: "Here, at the shock of war, I left my dreams. Love of the land with them welcomes me today". Finally, it is right to dedicate this historical documentary of mine to Gianni Marino, supporter of this commendable work (operation) of recovery of the mortal remains and, with them, of the memory of Amato Teta.
