He continues his career as a journalist, a career he began after graduating from Kartal Anatolian Imam-Hatip High School and Istanbul University Faculty of Theology. The Middle East and the Islamic world have been his focus for many years. He currently writes columns twice a week for Yeni Şafak newspaper, focusing on current events in the Islamic world, where he travels frequently. He is also the editor-in-chief of the monthly Derin Tarih magazine and the website gzt.com/mecra. He has published 24 books.
