What Happens when You Make a Katana EXTRA Curved?

Japanese swords vary substantially in how strongly curved their blades can be, depending on the region, time frame, etc. On average a tachi tends to have a more pronounced curvature, although they don't have to. Either way, few are as extreme as the blade I'm showing you in this video. It looks a lot like the sword from Afro Samurai, and it has a much different feel than an "average" katana. So what does it do, and what are its pros and cons?
