I'm always hearing about people using hot glue to dop various stones including opal but have never tried it myself. I doubted this method and my doubts were proven correct. I compare it to other methods and it falls short in every category. Hot Gun loses vs wax, epoxy and superglue. It is similar to general purpose glue (like tarzans grip).
