Sewing Leather Flank Straps for Roping Saddle with Bruce Cheaney

Winding a nylon 346 bobbin on my Cowboy leather sewing machine. Sewing two layers of leather the top layer is vegetable tanned saddle skirting and the bottom layer is burgundy latigo. On thick leather like this I use a Schmetz size 230 harness needle and nylon or polyester size 346 thread. This leather sewing machine sews great with nylon or polyester thread. Thanks for watching! This leather sewing machine works great for saddle making and leathercraft projects. The sewing machine needle I use range from size 180 to 230 and the thread I use is mostly white polyester size 346 although on some lighter weight leather I use 207 or 277 thread in assorted colors.
