In this special episode of the Off The Track podcast, I sit down with Oliver and Ryan Yates from Rally Stages Media to talk all things rally. Filmed and produced by Rally Stages at the iconic Macdonald Arms Hotel in Tobermory, this episode is packed with stories from my rally career, my early days in karting, and the work I do outside of rallying, including my time with CalMac in the merchant navy and my experiences as a commercial diver. We also dive deep into the FB Rally Foundation—a project close to my heart—designed to help the next generation of rally drivers and navigators get into the sport. The Foundation aims to provide mentoring, guidance, and financial support for emerging talent, with the Mull Rally as the base event. It’s all about fostering the future stars of rallying, and I’m excited to share more about how it came to life. This podcast was filmed just before the 2024 Mull Rally, where I faced some engine troubles but still managed to finish 3rd overall. Throughout this episode, you’ll hear first-hand about my journey, challenges, and love for rallying—and you’ll get a look behind the scenes at what drives me both on and off the track.
