───────────────────── 真鍮の都 City of Brass ───────────────────── 作編曲：深渡瀬丈裕 (Takehiro FUKAWATASE) 金管8重奏（金属打楽器持ち替えあり） ├ Trumpet 1 & Sleigh Bells ├ Trumpet 2 & Sleigh Bells ├ Flugelhorn & Wind Chimes ├ Horn & Wind Chimes ├ Trombone 1 & Anvil ├ Trombone 2 & Anvil ├ Euphonium & Triangle └ Tuba & Triangle ※各打楽器は、2人で1台を共有する形で配置してください。ただし、Triangleは2台ある方が望ましいです。 演奏時間: 0:04:50 グレード: 4 品番（商品コード）: FME-0676（105-20398） ▶ より詳しい情報／楽譜のお買い求めはフォスターミュージックで 商品詳細: https://www.fostermusic.jp/products/d... 岐阜県立羽島北高等学校吹奏楽部の委嘱により、2025年10月に作曲しました。 バートン版『千夜一夜物語（アラビアンナイト）』に「真鍮の都」（第567夜～第578夜）という物語があります。 ※マルドリュス版では「青銅の町の綺談」（第339夜～第346夜）がそれに対応しています。 7年も続いた旱魃により飢饉に陥り、やがては都を完全に閉ざし、民は餓死による自殺を選んだという「真鍮の都」。 そこに残されていたのは、争った形跡のない民達の死体と、たくさんの金銀財宝。そして、まだ生きていると見紛う程に美しい、その国の姫のミイラ。 姫の願いは「都に侵入できた者に全ての財を譲る。そのかわり、私の体だけはそっとしておいてほしい。」というものでした。 作曲にあたり、金管八重奏という編成と、打楽器も使用可能という依頼内容から、金属製の楽器（金管楽器と金属打楽器）のみ用いる、というアイデアが最初に浮かびました。 そして、その編成には「真鍮の都」の物語がとても似合うと考え、テーマに選びました。 ただし、音楽は具体的な物語を描写しているわけではなく、私なりの「真鍮の都」の印象を音にしています。 それは視覚的な情景だけでなく、温度や湿度も含まれます。 作曲技法的には、いわゆる西洋和声とは異なる音の重ね方を用いているため、明確な調性感は無いかと思います。 そこに、ミュートや金属打楽器の使用も相まって、多少無機質な響きがするかもしれません。 しかし、そんな無機質な響きの中で、旋律だけは幾分か「歌」を感じられるはずです。 そこに、物語の登場人物達の心情も感じ取って演奏していただけたらと思います。（深渡瀬丈裕） ■　English below ───────────────────── City of Brass Comp,Arr,；Takehiro FUKAWATASE (BrassOctet (8parts)) Overseas Shipment： City of Brass was commissioned by the Wind Orchestra of Gifu Prefectural Hashima Kita High School and composed in October 2025. The inspiration for this work comes from The City of Brass, a tale found in Sir Richard Burton’s edition of The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night (Arabian Nights). The story tells of a magnificent city that fell into ruin after seven years of drought and famine. Within its walls remained countless treasures, the bodies of its inhabitants, and the beautifully preserved mummy of a princess who entrusted the city’s riches to whoever might one day discover them. When I received the commission for brass octet with optional percussion, the first idea that came to mind was to write using only metallic instruments—brass instruments and metal percussion. I felt that this unique sonority would perfectly suit the atmosphere of The City of Brass, and thus the story became the inspiration for the piece. Rather than portraying specific events from the tale, the music reflects my personal impression of the city. It seeks to evoke not only its imagery, but also its climate, temperature, and sense of stillness. The work employs sonorities that differ from traditional Western harmonic practice, resulting in a somewhat ambiguous sense of tonality. Combined with the use of mutes and metallic percussion, the sound may at times feel cold and inorganic. Yet within this sound world, I hope the melodies retain a sense of songfulness. I would be delighted if performers could bring to life the emotions and inner thoughts of the story’s characters through these melodies.
