How to Record Sound for Video: Dual System Sync Sound

For professionally produced films, the sound is usually recorded separate from the camera by a dedicated audio recorder. Why? Usually, this allows the crew to record higher quality sound. Recording sound this way is called Dual System or Sync Sound.
