Distributor Gear Backlash Measuring Tool
Chris Straub of Straub Technologies now offers a distributor backlash checking tool for lease or purchase, allowing precise measuring of the distributor gear to the camshaft gear. Originally designed by John Callies years ago for NASCAR engines, this device used in tandem with the correct oversize gear eliminates spark scatter and unstable ignition timing due to excessive gear lash.
