Silesian Trail
The film tells the story of thousands of Silesians who, in the second half of the 19th century, fled poverty and conscription into the Prussian army and set off for the wild lands of Texas to begin a new life. It portrays the arduous journey of the first settlers and the determination that allowed them to survive in harsh conditions and establish the first Polish settlement – Panna Maria. The protagonists of the contemporary part of the story are the descendants of those pioneers, now prosperous Texans, who speak about their identity, their bond with Poland, and the challenge of preserving the memory of their ancestors. It's a film about emigration, heritage, and the remarkable path from peasant villages of Silesia to the oil-rich ranches and factories of modern Texas. #history #emigration #silesia #poland #texas
