I Doubled the Living Space in My Off Grid Cabin

This week I completely transformed the loft in my off-grid cabin. After spending the last year living almost entirely downstairs, I hauled up dozens of 2x4s, framed and built the knee walls, painted the entire loft, built a new railing, and turned this space into a real bedroom. There’s still more work ahead—I’ll be building cabinet doors, trimming the windows, and finishing all the details—but seeing it finally become a functional living space has been such an incredible feeling.
