HORROR ICONS wanted. After FREDDY KRUEGER, JASON VOORHEES, ASH WILLIAMS, and MICHAEL MYERS, we ask ourselves: Who are the new cult killers, scream queens, anti-heroes, or final girls & boys? And who are the next ones? Schlogger, Chris, Andre, and Schröck have each compiled a short list of favorites, some of whom have already achieved a certain level of popularity, while others have the potential. This has sparked lively discussions. Naturally, the conversation turns to ART THE CLOWN from the TERRIFIER films and the reinvention of PENNYWISE. It also touches on whether JIGSAW, aka JOHN KRAMER, is perceived more as a person or a puppet, and—speaking of puppets—why M3GAN has likely missed his chance to become even more famous or, indeed, iconic. Or why characters like VECNA or the DEMORGORGON don't stand out as much as, for example, WEDNESDAY, who has become a true merch queen. And so it continues merrily along.
