Hoshimachi Suisei Newton! Another banger in Suisei's SPECTRE album! This is another one of those "dark song but made in a happy and bright tone", similar to the type of YOASOBI's Yoru Ni Kakeru, but not as dark lol... But is equally vibeable ^_^ ** Technical Analysis ** Personally, Newton very much hits harder than gravity, especially once you find out what the lyrics mean; and the original parts that I made for this piece are meant to do 2 things: 1) Brighten up the song even more 2) Seep further into the conflicting emotions that Suichan wants to convey through this piece So first off, at 2:12 here, I wanted to deliver some sort of a "background vocal" effect, whereby some backup singers will repeat a phrase that the main singer has just sung. This can be easily replicated by playing the same notes, but an octave lower/higher. And it fills up any areas of a piece which you might think is a bit too "empty". Then at 2:34 here, its one of those moments when "experimentation" goes right =D This chord progression fits the vibes of a person with conflicting emotions, and is probably one of the "EUREKA" moments i had while preparing for this piece. From a sentimental type of start, and slowly building back up to the final chorus to deliver a "happy" ending for Newton. And speaking of "happy", nothign beats the definition of "happy" when you can successfully include one or two phrases of Blues/Jazz/RnB that really has that vibe to tap your feet and makes you wanna dance to it, as demonstrated here at 3:46 ^_^ Oh, 3:23 here the octave jumps were really just meant to vibe together with how the chords felt "jumpy" and had that sort of party vibe to it XD That's it for this cover of Suisei's Newton!
