Climbing to the top of Lycabettus Hill Viewing Area. A Big Climb for sure!! - Athens Greece - ECTV

Lycabettus Hill, standing at 277 meters, is the highest point in Athens, offering panoramic views of the city and surrounding areas. The summit features the 19th-century Church of St. George, a small whitewashed chapel. Visitors can reach the top via a funicular railway from Kolonaki or by hiking through scenic paths lined with pine trees. The hill also hosts the open-air Lycabettus Theatre, which reopened in 2023 after renovations, and a cafe-restaurant where guests can enjoy meals with a view. The area is rich in history and mythology, with legends attributing its formation to the goddess Athena. My name is Eric Clark and I am a world traveler. I have been around the world a few times and decided to help fund my travels by sharing my videos and pictures. I have been to almost every country and would be glad to give tips and pointers. Drop me a note. = )
