We had 48 hours to get back to London from our base in Pompeii. With the travel rules changing, we wanted to avoid a 2-week quarantine and head a deadline to get back. This ultimate road trip was our biggest journey in the shortest time ever and resulted in driving through 7 countries in 1 day. Our day 1 journey started in Pompeii near Naples in the south of Italy. We then spent the day getting to Como on the border of Switzerland. We then woke up early for our day of crossing Europe but only able to stop and refuel in Germany. We won't be doing a journey like this again any time soon, but we made it to the Eurotunnel in time. We are used to European road trips but this is one we wouldn't recommend.
