Offering much-needed relief to citizens from the grueling heatwave, heavy rain has lashed several regions, including the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Angul, and Jagatsinghpur. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued critical weather warnings for the next 24 hours. An Orange Alert has been issued for 7 districts, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall, while a Yellow Warning is in place for the remaining 23 districts. This continuous downpour marks the onset of peak monsoon activity in the region.
