Peakdistrict Photography - Out in the Peak District camera in hand in golden light!
Join me on an exciting wildlife photography adventure in the stunning High Peak District as I head out in search of one of Britain’s most iconic birds – the Red Grouse. The day starts at home with a blanket of snow and the hope of dramatic winter conditions up on the moors. I pack the camera gear expecting a true winter wonderland, but when I arrive on the higher ground the snow has disappeared – leaving me to work with beautiful golden light and classic Peak District landscapes instead. Despite the change in conditions, it turns into an incredible day of grouse photography. With patience, fieldcraft and a bit of luck, I manage to capture some amazing close encounters with these charismatic birds in their natural moorland habitat. We also cook up some banock bread As always, I share my full process – from planning and settings to field techniques – showing how I approach photographing wildlife out in the wild Peak District.
