Hoogeveen Germanicus 1996 1997

Hoogeveen – Germanicus might have been Drenthe's "Ajax vs. Feyenoord." Those days are long gone, however. So, on Throwback Thursday, we're looking back at one of these classics. We're going back to the 1996-1997 season. Hoogeveen was back in the first division after two years in the second division, and Germanicus had just been relegated from the Hoofdklasse. Hoogeveen won the opening day match 5-0 and would go on to become champions. The footage was provided by RTV Drenthe.
