Via Transilvanica Day 13: Gledin to Brancovenesti

#BackbackingAndBrews Paul & Tammy continue to explore Romania on the Via Transilvanica trail. On 15 April 2026, their 13th day they backpacked from Gledin to Brancovenesti in the Highlands region. Copied text from Day 1 video: ​ @BackpackingAndBrews On 3 April 2026, my wife and I started our adventure across Romania by hiking the 1,400 kilometer (about 850 miles) Via Transilvanica. We began our trek in Putna near the Ukrainian border and worked our way south toward Drobeta Turnu Severin along the Danube River. We attempt to document our journey via these videos with the intent to share what we learned about about Romanian culture, their food, history, architecture and their ways of living. Additionally, we share as much information as we can about the logistics, the scenery, the trail conditions, and the weather to enable other people to take on this adventure. In addition to documenting our progress via YouTube videos, we used the AllTrails application for navigation and tracking and used Garmin and Earthmate for tracking.
