Monsignor Munilla briefly explains point 304 of the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church: What sins must be confessed? Many wonder why one must confess sins to a man (priest) "if I already confess to God." Those who speak this way forget the sacramental value of Confession, instituted by Jesus, God the Son, upon his coming to earth.
