Hey, friends! Today we analyze the biggest hit by the 80s duo Tears for Fears, founded by Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal. A group that, of course, had already had several hits before this one, as their first three albums, The Hurting, Songs from the Big Chair, and The Seeds of Love, already contain the works that consolidated them as one of the most important bands of the 80s and as a group with concrete ideas that touched on themes such as politics, humanity, and psychosocial disorders. Those albums alone feature songs like Shout, Sowing the Seeds of Love, Woman in Chains, Change, Mad World, and of course, Everybody Wants to Rule the World. The latter was their pinnacle hit, which in fact wasn't even going to be recorded and included on the album because it was too different from the other songs. However, two chords were decided to make it. Record producer Chris Hughes thought the song could be a big hit, so he convinced the duo to record it.
